                          Frequently Asked Questions
                          ===========================

Q. When I run CMEdit, I receive a message "Invalid FoxPro Version", and
then the program exits. What causes this?
A. You haven't obtained the FoxPro runtime library which CMEdit requires.
This can be found on IntelliLink BBS with the filename CMEDLIBC.ZIP.
Unzip and install in ChessMAGIC's main directory.

Q. When I run ChessMAGIC!, I get lots of crazy characters on the screen.
A. You need to load an ANSI driver, such as ANSI.SYS or DVANSI if you're
running Desqview. ChessMAGIC! outputs ANSI characters and requires an
   ANSI driver.

Q. When I run ChessMAGIC!, it exits with "Nodes Exceeded!".
A. Run CMEdit, select Miscellaneous, then select Reset Nodes. This will
reset ChessMAGIC!'s internal node counter. This most likely occurs when
ChessMAGIC! doesn't exit normally, or abruptly stopped without exiting
   normally.

Q. Sometimes when 2 users enter the game, I receive a share violation.
A. You more than likely need to run the accompanying readonly.bat file.
Certain files, such as the cmagic.exe need to be set to readonly. The
readonly.bat file will set readonly attribute to the necessary files.

Q. Users using Qmodem Windows cannot see ChessMAGIC's RIP icons.
A. I don't at this time have an answer for this. ChessMAGIC! does work in
RIP emulation fine with QmodemPro, Ripterm 1.5x and Ripterm 2.xx.

Q. Users using Qmodem, have ChessMAGIC's board wrap on their screen.
A. Adjust the line wrap feature in Qmodem.

Q. What do I do if I can't get ChessMAGIC! to recognize and
   properly run with remote connections?
A. Run ChessMAGIC! with the BUGLOG command line parameter.
ChessMAGIC! will create a file cmdebug.log with information
that will enable KnightWare to resolve your problem quickly.
Please forward that file to IntelliLink BBS (770) 978-2893 and
leave a message to the sysop.

Q. What can I do if my remote users see garbage, and it appears fine locally?
A. They possibly may not have an ANSI driver loaded, or there is a baud rate
problem in the door.sys file. You can override the door.sys baud rate
by passing the following command line parameter to ChessMAGIC!,
BAUD:nnnnnn where nnnnnn = the BBS port rate
