Stardock Loco History File and Updates. Why, what, and when.
Definitely not a must read....:)

Starts at the bottom and goes up to here.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 13 Fixed IGM problem stemming from new command line pars-
ing in game. Weird stuff, but it works. Continued
		     beta test.

April 12-13 IGM's not working in 32 bit version. Stumped. Leave
the house, play 2 hours of basketball, drink heavily,
then eat like pig. Fall asleep on floor of friends
house, wake up, hoping it ain't a school day....
Do mail, up reg's, drink water, water, water. Create
personal web site: Title: Spinach Quiche Sucks.
		     Check it out: http://www.starlink.com/~alanen

April 11 Dan at the Information Exchange sets me up for beta
testing. What a nice guy. Tried to telnet in, but
bbs I'm using for telnet is garbage, can't upload files.
(65 bps, recursive send on packets, 20 hours estimated
time on upload.) ??? Sure, they say it's _my_ modem
set-up. Hmmm, called 36 bbs's today, no problems over
there....<G> Ah well, called Dan's bbs normal mode,
1.5 minute upload. Hey, must be my modem...:)

		     Dan's BBS: (great place) 770-957-3325 telnet: thix.com

April 9 Added 23 places for ANSI art in the game. Decided
to let 3rd parties make them, or create some later.
		     See ansi.lst for details.

April ??!?? Early am, figure that I should get some sleep
as I am a student and have school soon. 4 hours?
		     uh oh....

April ????! Banged out 3/4ths of Smush! an IGM today.
Looking really cool. Now where do I stuff
an arcade game in this game? Nearly finished
it, and decided to give 32 bit SDL another go.
Wrote letter to Brian Pirie, maker of Opendoors.
Think before write...think before write. Hmmm.
Finish doors before release...finish doors before
release. Gotta settle down and make sure stuff
is done! Letter to Brian stated problems I was
having with his code. Sent it off. Proceeded
to find out after letter was sent that his code
was beautiful. My compiler settings were ugly.
Hmmm. My fault. Ooops. Recompiled everything
32 bit. Now where can I find a fresh chicken, I
mean an unwary sysop with WC!5 to test this on...
<G> Need bbs software, need big narly computer
to drive it with, need Bill Gates' wife and money.
		     Hmmmm....don't need his software. Ugh.

April ????! Banged out IGM for SDL. IGM name is profile.
Went berzerk and coded the thing in 3 hours.
Probably looks like it too....<G> Heck, it's
		     an IGM.

April !???! Lost track of time. Going bananas. Ate a few
as well. Planning trip to Ixtapa, Mexico for
relaxation. Hmmm, maybe I'll let the insurance
co. pay for it....hehehehe. Waiting for check
to repair car. Car or Mexico....Hmmmm. That
dent would look pretty neat-o from the beach.
I'd just have to look at it through the bottom
of a Dos XX bottle...it wouldn't look bad. But,
couldn't see the car anyway, as I will be way
down in the middle of that wonderful country.

March 29 Had fun at the game. Got rammed by a wacko real
estate lady in a '96 Mercedes. She blamed it on
me. Hmmm, how does the rear end of my car hit
the front of her car if I'm going 15 mph _forward_
		     in a parking lot???
Decide to read logic problems to see if my logic
		     is screwy....<G>

March 29 Head for spring training b-ball game after school.
		     Free tickets given by friend.
Lady friend comes into town, I'm designated driver.
Go to game, drink cokes. Wish I had a brew. :(
Decide that weekend will be a party. Realize I said
that last week, but answered 3000 pieces of mail and
gave away 200 reg keys instead. Bah! Set mind on
tall draught of Guinness. Revamp mind picture to
large pitcher of Guinness. Revamp mind picture to
_many_ large draughts from _many_ large pitchers of
Guinness! Realize that I can only afford cheap watery
beer. Decide to cry in it instead at first opportunity.
Realize it's been weeks since last beer. Make dinner
of gooey Ramon noodles. Eat some, give rest to dog.
Dog looks at me disgustedly and leaves the room. Dream
of real food. Look at dog interestedly. Dog stew?
Dog kabobs. Hmmm. Dog burgers.....Large pieces of
shredded dog roast on Ramon noodles? Hmmmm. Hope
a registration letter comes in soon. Running out
		     of pets....<G>

March 28 Realize that Franz is a genius. Fixed share violations
by removing a dos call. Recompiled with Opendoors 6.
New version has _better_ internal comm routines and
all kinds of stuff I don't even know about!
		     Released sdloco20.zip. Promise myself
that I will _not_ release another version until the
32 bit version is ready. Get free tickets to Sun's
game, and worry about program through the whole game.
Decide to drink lots of brew tomorrow.

March ? Released sdl147ck.zip with fix for slow machine lock
ups. Stuffed wrong order form in zip file. Uh oh.
People are gonna wonder why they want to register
Figgit in place of Stardock Loco, and Figgit isn't
even public yet...No one knows that Figgit is a cool
multi configuration door system that takes care of
all your problems with doors and puts them into one
really big problem. <G> Decide to ax Figgit.

March ? Talked with Franz (Author of NY2008 door game).
Puts idea in mind that share problems could be dos
calls. Lock up problems could be od_kernal() calls
needed in loops for slower machines. Ignored him...

March ? Bunch of e-mails on share violations and lock ups.
Revamp idea that share violation is Bill McGate's fault.
Own up to my programming faults....

March 8 Re-released game with multi configuration
option to allow multiple node configs. Same game.

March 3 Banzai'd the game all over arizona.

March 1 Figured share violation problem was fault of WIN95.
		     Released game. sdloco14.zip (Dumb...dumb...<G>)

February Beta beta beta. Jumped up and down on disk containing
game. Going bananas. Player list looks like it's been
run over by cement truck. Fixed bug that corrupted
the player list. BAD BUG! BAD BAD BAD!!

January Beta beta beta....Started wide beta in middle of month.

December 17-30 Went crazy trying to program game and finish it over
school break. Decided that it was Loco (Crazy), and
I was batty as well. Finished up game. Added own
		     personal ansi screens. Sleep-program-eat-sleep-program
		     eat-program-sleep-eat-eat-program-sleep-program-program
cycle continues for days. Wake up at 3 am and fix bug
that miraculously was solved in dream. Worked too!
Game forms into a pretty good door.

December 15-17 Found a friend that had bbs. Finished prototype.
Game works after a few days of fiddling. Game is
named Stardock 10. Game stinks at this point.

December 13 Realized I was trying to re-invent the wheel. Searched
local bbs's for comm libraries. Found Opendoors 5.0,
converted printf's to od_printf's. Now they go over
the phone line!! Yeeehaw! Tried to connect door game
over computers without help of bbs. Doesn't work...

December 4-12 Began programming serial comm library. Read mega books.
Start looking at ASM (assembler). Vomit.

December 3 Realized that printf statements don't run well over
telephone lines. Kick C book around room.

December 2, 1996 Learned C printf statement. Decided to write a door game.
